Alsace-Lorraine

Alsace-Lorraine is a territory in France. It was disputed with Germany, playing a role in several wars including the Franco-Prussian War (to Germany), World War I (back to France), and World War II (occupied and annexed by the Germans during the war, then reconquered near the end).
