Battle Of Moscow

The Battle of Moscow took place in the late fall of 1941, during World War II. The initial German invasion of the Soviet Union during the summer had been so successful that it took them to within a few hundred miles of Moscow. However the Soviets, bolstered by reinforcements from Siberia, managed to hold defensive lines that buckled to within 17 miles of the city itself.

The weather worsened, and the Germans were pushed back in some counterattacks.
