Christian Conservative

Christian Conservative is a subset of Conservatives in the USA. They are characterized by a motivation to influence government policy that is aligned with their Christian beliefs. Foremost is their belief that abortion and gay sex are immoral and laws that protect or encourage these acts should be abolished. This motivation to use government to influence social change is parodoxical with most Conservative's philosophy of individuality and less government intervention in the lives of people. Their main point of agreement seems to be the belief that the ruling of Roe vs. Wade ? is not a valid Supreme Court ruling, however, for different reasons. Traditional conservatives believe that the ruling is politically motivated and is not Constitutionally protected, while Christian Conservatives simply believe that abortions should be outlawed. Despite this fundamental difference in philosophy, many Republican ? politicians pander to Christian Conservatives and many Democrat ? politicians avoid alienating them because they are a large and influential voting block.
