Edward Heffron

Edward "Babe" Heffron is a World War II veteran. He grew up in South Philadelphia, and enlisted in the army when he was eighteen. He fought with Easy Company in the 101st Airborne during Operation Market Garden, the Battle of the Bulge, the liberation of Landsberg concentration camp?, and the capture of Hitler's Eagle's Nest? at Berchtesgaden?. He also received the surrender of a German colonel, refusing to return the German's salute.

His experiences were recounted in the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers?, based on the book by Stephen Ambrose?.

In 2007, he coauthored an autobiographical book with his friend William "Wild Bill" Guarnere and Robyn Post?, called Brothers in Battle, Best of Friends?.
