Finland

Finland is a country in northern Europe. It is sometimes considered part of Scandinavia. It was occupied for periods of its history by the Swedes and the Russians. During World War II, it fought on the side of the Germans.

The Finnish language is rather unique, being unrelated to Germanic or Slavic languages which dominate northern Europe.
