Franklin Roosevelt

Franklin Delano Roosevelt was president of the United States during the Great Depression ? and World War II. He was elected four times, though he died before finishing his fourth term.

He was notable for starting new government programs and attempting to pack the Supreme Court with an additional six justices. Following the Attack on Pearl Harbor ?, he called it a "date which will live in infamy", rallying the country to overwhelming victory in World War II.

As an adult, Roosevelt was infected with polio ? and became a paraplegic.
