Generational Theft

Generational theft is the act of a government borrowing money that it has no hope of being able to pay back in the near future. As a result the nation carries the debt for twenty years or more, paying interest all the way, until it becomes the problem of future generations. This process has been compared to cracking open your childrens' piggy banks, or opening up a credit card in their name and running up a huge balance.

An example of generational theft is the Economic Stimulus Plan of 2008.
