Liberation Of France

The liberation of France was a campaign during World War II. It consisted of the breakout from Normandy following Operation Overlord, and a follow-up invasion on the French Riviera in Operation Anvil. By September 1944, most of France was free of German occupation.

A Free French unit was given the honor of liberating the city of Paris.
