Wikipedia

Wikipedia is an online, collaborative, free encyclopedia based on wiki software. Currently it is one of the ten most popular websites.

Wikipedia was founded by Jimbo Wales and Larry Sanger, based on an idea Ben Kovitz? had at a taco stand. The forerunner of Wikipedia was Nupedia. Kovitz convinced Wales and Sanger that the slow-growing Nupedia would do better as a wiki.
