Periodic Table

The periodic table of the elements is a system of displaying all the known chemical elements in a useful way.

A 'group' is a vertical column. A 'period' is a horizontal column.

Elements within groups usually display similar chemical properties. For example, everything in group 2 bar Beryllium? reacts with water, with the vigor of the reaction increasing as you go down the group.
