TLR CameraA TLR Camera or Twin Lens Reflex Camera is a camera that uses two lenses: one to find the image and the other to take the picture. They were very popular with professional photographers for years, with newspapers relying on them in the 1950's and wedding photographers using them extensively into the 1990's. A nice feature of TLR's is that the viewing image can be seen even as the picture is taken, because no mirror has to flip out of the way as in SLR's. Also the photographer is not forced to hide behind the camera, and can converse with the subject and put them at ease. Examples |
