Turkey-in-Europe

Turkey-in-Europe was a name for the territories belonging to the Ottoman Empire? in the Balkan region of Europe. At one point in the 17th century these extended all the way to Austria and Poland. However by the early 20th century they were whittled down to a small strip of land around the capital, Constantinople.

Countries to come out of Turkey-in-Europe include Serbia, Albania, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, and most parts of the former Yugoslavia.
