- Make housing less affordable by inflating prices, then restricting credit and refusing to let prices fall
- Determine who gets housing by injecting government bureaucracy into the market
- Drive banks and private lenders out of business
- Increase the cost of transportation by raising the cost of energy and overregulating American automakers
- Redirect money raised from tolls away from bridge and road maintenance and towards funding urban renewal projects
