Water is a chemical compound with the formula H2O. The two hydrogen atoms are covalently bonded to one atom of oxygen.

Life

It is essential for life as we know it and it covers approximately 71% of the Earth's surface as oceans. It is also used for practical purposes, such as washing. It acts as a solvent in common organic reactions and is used to dilute chemicals which would otherwise be too reactive for everyday use.
