Arianism

From Encyc

Arianism was a form of early Christianity which is now extinct. It differed from Roman Catholicism regarding the nature of Jesus Christ, and whether he was human or god or what exactly he was. Much of the dispute came down to the spelling of a single word, where the letter "i" changed the meaning of the word.

Many barbarian tribes such as the Visigoths and the Vandals adopted Arianism, but gradually it faded out following the Council of Nicea.
