Canada is an [[Developed country|industrial nation]] with a highly developed science and technology sector. The [[Canadian Space Agency]] conducts space, planetary, and aviation research, and develops rockets and satellites. In 1984, [[Marc Garneau]] became Canada's first astronaut, serving as payload specialist of [[STS-41-G]].
