According to monotheistic traditions, God is the supreme power within all that exists inside and outside the universe. He has existed forever. Some traditions posit that he is all knowing, all powerful, and all good.

In polytheistic religions, there can be many gods, with varying powers and specializations.

In the movie Ghostbusters, Ray Stanz is advised that if someone asks you if you are a god, you should say yes.
