Hernando de Soto

Hernando de Soto was a Spanish explorer. In the early 1500s he explored the southeastern United States from Florida to the Mississippi River. He was the first European to discover the paddlefish.

Earlier in his career he was with Pizarro during the conquest of Peru.

De Soto is George Costanza's favorite explorer.
