Gliese 504

Gliese 504 (alternately 59 Virginis) is 57 lightyears from the Solar system.[1] Its stellar type is G0. It is 22 percent larger than Sol, our sun, and twice as bright.[2]

It is orbited by a brown dwarf, Gliese 504 b.[3]

Astronomers have discussed the age of the star system. There are certain indications it is a young star. But its brown dwarf companion seems to be billions of years old. One explanation is that the apparent youth of the star can be explained by it absorbing some large planets.[4]
