Atomic bomb

(Redirected from Atomic Bomb)

An atomic bomb is an explosive device that causes destruction by converting matter into energy. The first bomb was developed during the Manhattan Project during World War II.

The bombs work through the process of nuclear fission, where atoms are split. A few years after the war, atomic bombs were combined with additional material to produce the hydrogen bomb, which uses the energy from nuclear fission to start an additional fusion reaction, releasing even more energy.
