Summary

Description

1959 Cadillac Ecto-1 Driven in the film Ghostbusters (1984)

Converted from a 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor ambulance, the iconic Ecto-1 transported the ghost-busting foursome in the 1984 film Ghostbusters. The vehicle is appropriately outfitted with tools and equipment for apprehending ghosts, including a storage tank for the captured ghosts and a modified gurney to hold the team's proton packs. While the original design of the Ecto-1 specified an all-black exterior with flashing purple and white strobe lights, the vehicle was ultimately painted white since the majority of the scenes were filmed at night and a dark car would be lost on screen.
