Railcar
Appearance
(Redirected from Rail car)

Railcar is a term for a passenger railroad vehicle that does not rely on a dedicated locomotive, because it has its own motors.
In North America the Budd railcar was a widely used brand of railcar.
They are used to service inter-city passenger routes with a relatively small number of passengers. Several cities use railcars to carry airline passengers between the city centre and an outlying airport.
They are generally powered by a diesel engine.
