Appearance

2M1207 (alternatively 2MASSW J1207334-393254) is a brown dwarf, that is, in turn, orbited by an object close to the mass of Planet Jupiter.[2][3] Its mass is 20 times that of Planet Jupiter, and 1.2 percent that of the mass of Sol, our sun.
Its companion, 2M1207 b is 5 times the mass of Jupiter.[4] The average distance between the pair is 55 astronomical units.[1]
They are located 230 lightyears from the Solar system, in the constellation Hydra.[4]
