Adenovirus serotype 36
Adenovirus serotype 36 or AD-36 is a human adenovirus that may lead humans to gain weight. Tests have been carried out in non-human primates which corroborate this assertion[1] and show, paradoxically, that the virus also has the effect of lowering serum cholesterol.
