Air pollution

From Encyc

Air pollution is emissions of toxins into the air. Traditionally most air pollution came from point sources such as smokestacks (e.g. coal-burning power plants, factories, etc.), but more recently nonpoint sources have made up a larger share of air pollution. Nonpoint sources include cars and boat engines, which have been strictly regulated, and landscaping equipment, which has so far escaped regulation at the federal level and in most states.
