Alfred Einstein

Alfred Einstein (born Munich 1880, died California 1952) was a German musicologist.

He was music critic for the Munchner Post, 1919-27 and Berliner Tageblatt, 1927-33. He edited Riemann's Musiklexicon (9th ed 1919, 10th 1922, 11th 1929).

He fled from the Nazis to London in 1933 and the USA in 1939, and became an American citizen in 1945.
