Alloys

Alloys are mixtures of metals, often more useful than the pure metals themselves due to gains in strength, corrosion resistance, weight reduction, or other properties.

Examples

• Brass - copper, zinc
• Bronze - copper, tin
• Steel - iron, carbon and often other metals such as manganese, chromium, vanadium, tungsten.
