Appeasement
Appearance

Appeasement is a conflict resolution strategy where the aggressor is rewarded with his stated demands, on condition that he promise to refrain from further aggression. It seldom works, because there is no incentive for the aggressor to stop making new demands as soon as the old ones are fulfilled.
