Artaxias II of Iberia
Appearance
Artaxias II (also called Arsuk) (died 1 AD) was a king of Iberia (now eastern Georgia) from about 20 BC to 1 AD. He was from the Nimrodid Dynasty. The name "Artaxias" in Georgian is "Arshak," and "Arsuk" is "არსუკ."
According to old Georgian stories, Artaxias II's father was Mirian II, a descendant of Nimrod and Parnavaz. His mother was from the Arshakuniani dynasty. Arsuk had to fight Aderki, a prince who came back from exile. Aderki was the son of Kartam and the adopted son of Bratman. Aderki won the battle and became the new king.
