Atriopeptin

Atriopeptin is a hormone that helps to regulate a person's blood pressure.

Atriopeptin is stored in the heart. When the volume of the blood rises above optimum, this hormone is released and stimulates the kidneys to increase the rate of urine production. This reduces the blood's volume, hence pressure.
