Boer Wars

From Encyc

The Boer Wars (late 19th century) were British wars of conquest in which they subjugated the descendants of Dutch settlers in South Africa and also black Africans in the region.

The Boers held the advantage at first, being familiar with the terrain, better marksmen, and using fabian tactics. However, the weight of the British Empire eventually forced them to surrender. The British countered the Boer strategy by relocating Boer civilians to concentration camps, removing support for soldiers in the field.
