Bomb

A bomb is a device that explodes. It is often used in war. Bombs can be hand-delivered or dropped by airplane. If they have motors of their own they are usually called something else, like missiles or rockets. Bombs can be detonated by simple fuzes that burn or by mechanical, electronic, or chemical methods.
