Branding irons
Appearance

A Branding iron is a tool for burning designs onto products, or onto the flesh of livestock.
The branding iron is made of Iron, formed into a design. The iron is heated until it is red hot, and then press onto the item or animal to be branded. The design is scorched onto wooden or leather items. On animals the hot iron wounds them, and the design will be visible as a scar on their skin for the rest of their life.
In prior centuries slaves were branded, just like livestock. It was extremely painful, and these brands were applied without anesthetic.
