Brian Thompson

From Encyc
'

Brian Thompson was an American executive at UnitedHealthcare, until he was gunned down on a Manhattan street, outside his hotel.[1][2][3][4]

Before a suspect was named experts assured the public the killer, while knowledgeable about firearms, seemed unlikely to be a paid assassin.[2]

within a few days a suspect emerged, and was arrested, Luigi Mangione, a scion from a wealthy Baltimore real estate family, who had developed debilitating spinal pain.[3] While Mangione left a three page manifesto behind, law enforcement officials are struggling to determine a coherent motive for the killing.
