Bric-a-brac

From Encyc

Bric-a-brac is a slang term meaning all manner of meaningless and worthless material, and the term is also occasionally used to downplay valuable items. For example, you might say "My house is full of bric-a-brac", which is kind of a more polite way of saying "My house is full of junk".

The term is based on the French phrase "à bric et à brac", which literally translates to "at random, any old way" [1], although even that source states that it is bric-a-brac, not, as is incorrectly stated in Wikipedia, "bric-à-brac". Indeed, no reputable source exists that suggests that the spelling "bric-à-brac" is in use anywhere at all, outside of that Wikipedia entry.
