Browser
Appearance
For computer users a browser is a program they use to visit sites on the internet. Most of the sites users use browsers to visit are written in html, for HyperText Markup Language. Browsers rely on the HyperText Transport Protocol (http) to do so. Browsers support other protocols, and can read other kinds of pages, like the File Transfer Protocol.
The html markup language is based on gml the generalized markup language. Html adds to gml facilities to direct the browser to render text, images, audio and video, from other internet pages into the window pane it presents to the user. Text and other elements within the rendered page could enable to user to go to another page, with a click of their mouse, and return to the current page.
