Bug

From Encyc
the common woodlouse, not an insect, is commonly referred to as a bug.

In Biology the colloquial term bug is used to refer to a variety of small animals, including insects and small arthropods, like spiders and millipedes and woodlice.

Although warm blooded shrews and humming birds are smaller than the largest insects only cold-blooded invertebrates are called bugs.
