Bullet
A bullet is a small piece of metal, usually lead, that is fired from a gun. It is shaped like a cylinder with a cone-shaped tip on one end. The bottom end is sometimes slightly concave. Most bullets are made to interact with the grooves in the gun, which imparts them with spin, so that they fly straighter and farther.
Some bullets are designed to tumble or fragment when they hit flesh. This gives them added stopping power.
Bullets are often used as an example of fast-moving objects, hence the phrase, "faster than a speeding bullet". They travel at thousands of feet per second.
