Cat

The cat is a type of feline. House cats are small, nice, neat creatures - and are pets in the USA and most parts of the world. A baby cat is called a kitten.

Scientific Name: Felis catus or Felis domesticus.

Note Wikipedia also offers the term Felis sylvestris, which is not quite right.
