The Caterpillar 793 is a brand of very large dump trucks. They are rated to carry approximately 240 tonnes. They are most commonly used in the mining industry. They are far too large to drive on conventional roads.

Caterpillar's very large dump trucks differ from similar sized trucks from their competitors. Caterpillar continues to use a mechanical transmission, where power from the vehicles engine is transmitted to the wheels by a mechanical transmission and drive shaft. Competitor's trucks use hybrid diesel-electric transmissions.
