Chashma is a town located in the Mianwali District near Kundian, in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It lies on the left bank of the Indus River, close to the Koh-i-Suleiman mountain range. Chashma is renowned for the Chashma Barrage, an important structure on the Indus River. In addition, the Chashma Nuclear Power Plant, operated by the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, is situated nearby. This plant includes two units of 300 megawatt each (CHASHNUPP-1 and CHASHNUPP-2) and two units of 325 megawatt each (CHASHNUPP-3 and CHASHNUPP-4). The four units of the Chashma plant are among the most efficient and reliable electricity generators in the country. Residents of Chashma are known as Chashmians.
