Crude oil

Crude oil makes the world go around. So much power is derived from it, relatively speaking, that it is incredibly amazing, and in certain ways, a bit unfortunate.

It is in the Earth. It may be made naturally by bacteria (minority theory [probably]) and other biological processes such as dinosaurs, decaying plant matter, and other fossils, living, and then dying and then being compressed with lots of pressure, or something like that.

It is transported in pipelines or in ships, including large double-hulled supertankers, which are among the largest ships ever built. Occasionally oil tankers run aground, causing environmental problems.
