Desi Arnaz

Desiderio Alberto Arnaz y de Acha III (1917-1986) was a Cuban-born bandleader.

He emigrated to the United States in 1933. He joined a Cuban band, then formed his own band. In 1940 he married Lucille Ball. He made several films in the 1940s and 1950s.

He enjoyed great success with his wife on TV in the 1950s. They had two children, Lucy Arnaz and Desi Arnaz Jr., but divorced in 1960.

He published his autobiography, A Book, in 1976, and made a last film appearance in The Escape Artist (1982).
