Duke Yang of Lu
Duke Yang of Lu (Chinese: 魯揚公; pinyin: Lǔ Yáng Gōng), personal name Ji Xi (姬熙) or Ji Ye (姬業), was the third ruler of the State of Lu during the early Western Zhou dynasty of ancient China. He was the son of Bo Qin, the founding ruler of the state, and the younger brother of his predecessor, Duke Kao of Lu.
He took the throne after the short, one-year reign of his elder brother. Unlike his brother, Duke Yang of Lu is recorded as having ruled for a slightly longer, yet still brief, period of six years. Following his death, the rule of the State of Lu passed to his son, Duke You of Lu. As with many rulers from this highly ancient period, specific details regarding the events, policies, or accomplishments of his six-year reign are extremely limited in surviving historical texts.
