Ella Bruccoleri is a British actor.[1] In 2025 it was announced she would play Mary Bennet the lead actor in the BBC production of The Other Bennet Sister
According to the BBC Bruccoleri says she was drawn to the character of Mary Bennet because she's an "atypical period drama heroine" who is anxious, awkward and possesses none of the poise other Regency period protagonists hold.[2]
Previously Bruccoleri portrayed debutante Miss Winifred Barragan, in season three of Bridgerton.[3][4] This came after a multi-season run as Sister Frances, a young nun, on the long-running drama Call the midwife.[5] She also played a role in the film Paddington in Peru.[6]
