A colonoscope is intended to inspect colons.

An endoscope is an optical instrument designed to allow medical personnel to inspect a living organism from the inside.

Individual organs have endoscopes particularly tuned to that organ. For instance a colonoscope is intended to inspect colons, a bronchoscope is intended to inspect the bronchia, a cystoscope is intended to inspect urinary tracts.
