Enlil

From Encyc

Enlil was a Sumerian god. He was the god of air and the sky, and had ambivalent feelings about humans, sometimes wanting to destroy them for making too much noise.

His worship was picked up by the ancient Israelites and merged with the local storm god, creating a Zeus-like father figure which eventually evolved into the modern monotheistic conception of god.
