Estonia

Estonia is the northernmost Baltic republic. It is located on the eastern shore of the Baltic Sea.

The language, Estonian, is in the Finnic family. It is in the Uralic group, not Indo-European.

Estonia was part of the Russian Empire until 1918. It was independent until World War II, then it was resorbed into the Soviet Union. Estonia regained independence in the 1990s.

Religion - many atheists or unobservant. Lutherans, Eastern Orthodox most common.
