Everything 2
Everything 2 is a site where one can post pages. Like wikis, it can be used for various things. Everything 2 differs greatly from wikis in several aspects.
Differences[edit]
On wikis, you don't have to create an account to post pages or modify them. On E2, you have to create an account, and you can only create and modify your pages, but not those of other users.
On wikis, you can post a page with a given title. But you can't post more pages under the same title, because you would have to overwrite the existing content. On E2, pages are grouped in "nodes", and a node can contain one or several articles which use the same title. For example, if a user writes a page titled "Example Node" and posts it to Everything 2, and another user then writes a page titled "Example Node" and posts it to the site 5 minutes after, the result will be a node titled "Example Node", which will show the two pages, generally in the format:
[ EXAMPLE NODE (thing) ] by User1 - 1 January 2000 <begin text> TEXT1 <end text> [ EXAMPLE NODE (person) ] by User2 - 5 february 2000 <begin text> TEXT2 <end text> [ EXAMPLE NODE (idea) ] by User3 - 6 March 2000 <begin text> TEXT3 <end text> [ EXAMPLE NODE (thing) ] by User4 - 12 June 2000 <begin text> TEXT4 <end text>
This means that disambiguations aren't needed as every page with the same name will be listed in order of date.
On wikis content is explicitly or implicitly with no copyright. On E2, every page is copyrighted by its author, provided that it is original content.
