English: Islands of the Republic of Mauritius labelled in black. Mauritius claim Tromelin Island claim from France and the Chagos Archipelago from the United Kingdom. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea both stated that the UK had an obligation to return the islands to Mauritius. In May 2025 an agreement was signed to transfer the Chagos Islands to Mauritius.
